4 Great Trips to Take Around St. Albert

St. Albert is a vibrant and severely under-appreciated city. Although its history is as complicated as any other major city in North America, the people of St. Albert are lucky enough to live in one of the safest cities in the country. So if you're not looking to move here for college: here are four other fantastic things you can do with your time while you're in town!

Red Willow Trail System

If you want to travel across the city on foot and get to know it by its loosely strung-together greenery, the Red Willow trail system is the way to go! With trails of varying length and difficulty, this is the best way to get to know the city on a close and personal basis. Although this can be more difficult for tourists who don't want to walk a lot, bikes are also allowed! Along this trail are multiple museums, art exhibits, and other pieces of the city's cultural history that add up into an incredible experience.

Grain Elevator Park

Ride in on the vintage 1920s train system and see one of Canada's last functioning grain elevators. Although the need for grain elevators has been diminished, because of their place in Canadian history this grain elevator was restored so that people could always see this piece of the past. While you're out admiring this history, the stretching fields and greenery of the area is as exciting as the exhibit itself. Of course, you'll want to bring picnic goods with you so that you can enjoy the best St. Albert real estate available to the public.

Musee Heritage Museum

Canada's history stretches far back, further than Canada's name and further than the first Europeans landing on the shore. The Musee Heritage Museum knows how vital it is to share the history of the first nation people of the area and how this city and country became what they are now. The exhibits work to include people of all backgrounds and now even include a selfie space so that people can chronicle their walk through history. This museum also understands the importance of keeping up with modern times to press the importance of history.

Blueberry Bluegrass Festival

This three-day festival in Heritage Park in St. Albert has events for anyone of any age or interest! Although some parts of this festival stick to classic fair goods, like a petting zoo and live music, the attitude is where it matters. Family-friendly fun is there to ensure that everyone has a great time. Since St. Albert is such a safe area, you can trust your kids to be safe here; just keep them under supervision.

This festival only comes once a year, in June or July, depending on the year, so drop at the moment that you can!

St. Albert is more than a flyby town, get to know the awesome people who live here and the long history it claims, and you'll fall in love in no time!
