Recently i won a contest held by Fab Bag and they send me a beautiful eyeshadow quad from brand Essence .. I always wanted to try essence makeup stuffs because these are affordable and of good quality.. I am yet to try their nail polishes ... Well,then today's review is on this beautiful eyeshadow quad 'Over The Taupe' from Essence. If you are a neutral shade or neutral look lover ,then this is a good option for you.. PACKAGING - The eyeshadow quad comes in a round plastic case without any mirror and applicator.. The packaging is handy but i wish there should be a mirror.. There is enough space in between the colours and the size is also standard ,hence no mixing of colours while taking through brush.. Over all packaging is nice..
SHADES, TEXTURE, PIGMENTATION & STAYING ABILITY -
There are four beautiful shades from lighter shade to darker shade.. The first shade is a lighter shade which can be use to highlight the brow bone and inner corner of eyes. The the second shade is a light silver-y kind shade and is also a lighter shade ..You can use this shade on the middle of the eyelid to create a 3D effect.. Then the third shade is a shimmery grey shade and the fourth shade is a dark blackish brown shade ..
The texture is not powdery nor creamy but somewhere in between. I don't find much fall out while applying.. Out of the four shades three shades are matte kind with very fine shimmers which is not visible on eyes. but the third shade is a little shimmery.. All the shades are quite pigmented specially the darker shades..but you can also build up the lighter shades pigmentation .. I generally use damped brush to build up the colours.. The staying power is maximum 3-4 hours on me ..
Honestly I didn't find the colours are so versatile but at this price you are getting four shades which is good.. There is nothing great in this palette ,but if you are a neutral lover and new to makeup ,then this is a good option to try out..
